Day-wise Itenerary

The journey begins as you wind your way up the lush green hills, where tea gardens stretch like a velvet carpet and toy trains whistle in the distance. As the air gets cooler and fresher with every turn, you’ll sense that Darjeeling isn’t just a hill station — it’s a timeless experience.

Check into your cozy hotel and relax for a while. In the evening, take a leisurely walk nearby, breathe in the crisp mountain breeze, and let the calmness of Darjeeling welcome you. For a first-time visitor, the sight of mist floating through the colonial-style houses will feel almost surreal.

Evening Recommendation

Sip on world-famous Darjeeling tea at Keventers or Glenary’s Bakery, then enjoy a quiet walk around Chowrasta Square under the golden sunset hues.

Wake up early to witness the legendary sunrise at Tiger Hill. As the first rays of the sun paint the Kanchenjunga in shades of gold and pink, you’ll feel the awe of nature’s grandeur like never before. The entire valley glows in silence, making it an unforgettable sight.

On your way back, stop at Batasia Loop, where the toy train spirals around manicured gardens and a war memorial, and then visit the serene Ghoom Monastery. Later, explore attractions like the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Zoo, Tenzing Rock, Japanese Temple, and Peace Pagoda.

Photo Opportunity

Ride the Darjeeling Himalayan Toy Train, or shop for tea and handicrafts at the local markets. Try hot momos with soup at a Tibetan café.

Bid farewell to Darjeeling and drive toward Gangtok. En route, stop at Namchi, a beautiful cultural town of South Sikkim. Here you’ll visit the towering Char Dham Temple Complex, where replicas of India’s four dhams stand majestically on Solophok Hill, and the stunning Samdruptse Monastery, home to a 135 ft. statue of Guru Padmasambhava overlooking the valley.

Continue your drive to Gangtok, where colorful prayer flags flutter across the roads, and the vibrant city is framed by snow peaks in the distance. Check into your hotel and relax after the scenic journey.

Local Cuisine

Take a leisurely walk along MG Marg, Sikkim’s lively pedestrian street filled with shops, cafés, and local handicrafts.

Today’s highlight is a thrilling excursion to the high-altitude Tsomgo Lake (12,400 ft). The glacial lake, surrounded by snow-capped peaks, reflects the sky like a giant mirror. Its mystical beauty feels almost unreal, especially with yaks walking along the shores and prayer flags fluttering in the breeze.

Further ahead, visit the sacred Baba Mandir, a temple dedicated to the memory of Soldier Harbhajan Singh. The atmosphere here is deeply spiritual, blending stories of devotion with Himalayan grandeur.

Important Note

Carry warm clothing due to unpredictable weather at high altitudes.

This morning, depart Gangtok and head towards Pelling. On the way, stop once again at Namchi if missed earlier — a town steeped in spirituality and scenic beauty. The Char Dham Complex with its towering Shiva statue and pilgrimage replicas is a major attraction, offering panoramic views of the mountains and valleys.

Continue onwards to Pelling, a quieter town known for its stunning Kanchenjunga views and monasteries. On arrival, check into your hotel and spend the evening at leisure, soaking in the mountain air and serenity.

Nature’s Beauty

Enjoy panoramic views of the Kanchenjunga range from your hotel.

Wake up to breathtaking views of the Kanchenjunga. Today, visit Pemayangtse Monastery, one of the oldest monasteries in Sikkim, radiating peace and history. Continue to Rabdentse Ruins, the remains of the 17th-century capital of Sikkim, where moss-covered walls and silence tell stories of the past.

Next, witness the power of nature at Kanchenjunga Waterfalls and Rimbi Falls, where crystal-clear waters gush through the forest. For thrill-seekers, try the Pelling Skywalk, offering panoramic views of the valley beneath your feet.

Photography Tip

Capture the crystal-clear waters of Khecheopalri Lake.

Your Himalayan journey comes to an end as you drive back to Bagdogra/NJP. The winding roads, rivers, and peaks seem to bid you farewell. Carry with you the golden sunrises, mystical lakes, monasteries, and the warmth of Sikkim’s culture — memories that will linger long after you leave.
